I have been obsessed with this refreshing engagement session by Alisha with Oakstream Photographyfor some time now and it has been quite the popular feature on some local wedding sites including Utah Bride and Groom. Some of you may have seen this already, but I just had to share it because I heart it so much…. and it’s worth seeing again! Enjoy!
Here is Erin Rhees and Ryan Gabriel Proposal Story:
“We got engaged on May 30th,” says Erin. “Earlier that week Ryan said we should have Chinese food on Saturday night since we hadn’t had it in so long and we love to cook it together. I thought that he was going to propose that night so I excitedly told my friend Jane (who happens to be my roommate) that I thought it was going to happen. Without my knowledge, she telephoned Ryan to give him the scoop. So he set up a decoy date for us to go out to my favorite Thai restaurant, so I thought that was going to be the day instead.
“That Saturday, before dinner, Ryan had to go pick up a movie and one of our favorite Chinese food entrees and he then met me at my house. He also brought homemade crab and cream cheese wontons and egg rolls. We fried the wontons and egg rolls and began to devour them. As we finished up our meal, Ryan grabbed two fortune cookies that were in his backpack. I thought nothing of it, because we adore fortune cookies and eat them often (whether or not we actually eat Chinese food).
“I began to take the clear plastic wrapping off of the fortune cookie and proceeded to break the cookie open to read my fortune. I was just about to make a joke about how I hoped it said, “You will marry a fabulous man SOON,” when I was struck by the actual fortune, which read, “Will you marry me?” As I looked over at Ryan, he dropped to one knee and opened the ring box to reveal a beautiful engagement ring that we had custom designed. I was totally surprised and overjoyed!”
