Editorial Bridal Photography. It’s an emerging trend in bridal photography and it’s largely inspired by fashion editorial. This is where brides look like they’ve just stepped from the pages of a magazine with all of the style and flair of glamorous models. The images are larger than life and capture the emotion and feeling of being in love. Think this is too fashion forward for Utah? Think again. Girls all over are breaking out of the mold and giving themselves permission to be beautiful. Some brides are even trading in the superstition of being seen in their gown before the wedding in favor of having better pictures to show their guests at their receptions.
So you’ve got your stylists and your photographer hired, now what? It’s time to shoot! Take a peek at these images, hair and makeup by Enizio and photography by Retrospect Studios.
As we see more and more brides clamoring to get this look, there are three key ingredients that just can’t be ignored:
1. Hair & Makeup. Let’s face it, the latest styles and trends aren’t set by brides putting their looks together with a max factor kit. They’re set by professional stylists using premium cosmetics to design new looks and trends. Professional hair and makeup artists know how to downplay or hide flaws and accentuate your natural beauty. Even
the most beautiful models on earth use professional stylists every day, why shouldn’t you just once?
2. Solid Photography. If your photographer doesn’t have command over the right lighting and posing for you it won’t matter how good or bad your makeup is. Find a photographer that specializes in shooting fashion inspired bridals and you won’t be disappointed.
3. Locations. Often times, these shoots are done before your wedding so you have images to share on your wedding day. Take advantage of that, and go off-site to new locations that aren’t a part of your wedding’s itinerary. Decide if you want a look that’s hip and urban, green and lush or regal and refined. You can even scour your favorite fashion magazines like Vogue to break the mold and get fresh ideas. Lastly, lean on your photographer. A good one should have a few special spots up their sleeve.
