Bride & Grooms: Amy Lee & Tyler Bolyard
How you met: We met through a mutual friend, Justen, that Amy went to high school with and Tyler served his mission with in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Justen actually ended up marrying one of Tyler’s friends so it worked out for everyone.
How he proposed: The best ever! We went out like usual on a Saturday night, to me (Amy), it seemed like we were just kind of winging it, I didn’t think we had any set plans. We ate sushi and during dinner talked about what we should do next. Tyler suggested we go see the movie “Yes Man”. I said I wasn’t really in to Jim Carey but I was down for whatever, just happy to be there. When we got to the theater, Tyler mentioned he heard there was something funny after the credits. Seemed pretty legit to me, since that is common to show outtakes or something like that. So we sit through the movie and when it ends we just relax in our seats and chat while waiting for the “something funny”. The theater empties out and Tyler grabs me by the hand and takes me up front and we sit down. The lights turn off and I say, “well, looks like its over” and begin to stand up. Then, suddenly, to my surprise the screen turns back on with a huge picture of OUR FACES! WHAAAAT? I immediately burst into tears as a slide show of the last 3 years of our time together plays on the big screen. It was perfect. It ended and I thought it couldn’t get any better, but it did. Tyler got down on one knee and busted out the most gorgeous shiny thing I had ever seen in my life. The tears really turned on when he said “Amy, will you marry me?”. I said “DUH! OF COURSE I WILL!” I could not believe that he pulled all of that off without me having even the slightest hunch. I was so proud of him and knew even more than before that I was the luckiest girl in the world!

Flowers: Whimsy Floral. Whimsy Floral was a dream to work with. Liz knew exactly what I wanted and saw the vision that my coordinator and I saw. The flowers were gorgeous and I nearly cried when I saw my bouquet. It was breathtaking. I can’t forget to mention how they saved the day by rescuing my cake. Something happened in the delivery process and the bottom layer of my adorable cake was collapsing, causing the entire thing to nearly tip over. Four people were able to work together to lift the top two layers off of the sunken bottom layer and place it on a spare cake stand that my brilliant coordinator happened to bring, just in case. It still needed some touching up though. Luckily, someone from the Whimsy team had worked in a bakery and knew how to make buttercream. She raced to the kitchen and whipped up some frosting, touched up the places that were damaged from the “incident” and made it look as good as new. You would never in a million years guess anything had gone wrong with it. It even took me a while to figure out that it was missing a layer because it looked so perfect. Thanks Whimsy, you saved the day!

We are so grateful that she was able to help us plan our dream wedding while living in California. She spent hours on the phone with us to figure out exactly what it was we wanted. She made everything so easy on us, and she was planning several weddings at the same time. We only met with her once in person throughout the whole period of planning the wedding and everything was out of this world. Heather is one of the most talented wedding planners ever and her success is becoming greater and greater. We will never be able to thank her enough for making the happiest day of our lives turn out as beautifully and memorable as it was.
