2010 Color Trend {Turquoise}

Pantone, the leading source in anything that is color has announced that the 2010 color of the year is Turquoise,  an inviting, luminous hue. Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.

“In many cultures, Turquoise is believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that to many people, Turquoise represents an escape, taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting – even if it is only fantasy.”

We wanted to show our readers different color options that can be combined with turquoise and inspire all you brides planning your 2010 wedding with the IT color! So many options for every type of event!

TurqandSeaGreen

 Turquoise and Sea Green: This perfect hue combo is created by using similar monochromatic colors - A monochromatic color scheme is just one single hue and its variations in terms of tints, shades and saturation. Turquoise and Sea Green would be perfect pair for a fresh, modern, simple wedding. Using classic shapes and lines will create the ultimate event that could be held at a beautiful restaurant, modern lounge or even a destination wedding.

TurqandPink

 Turquoise and Pink: Different shades of pink and turquoise are the perfect colors for a bright summer wedding. By combining the tranquil turquoise with a romantic pink you can create a very feminine and fashionable event. For some extra Hollywood glam… add crystals and candles to your table decor! If hot pink is a little to bold for you then try a lighter blush pink shade for an even more romantic vintage feel.

TurqandBlack

 Turquoise and Black: A color combo made in heaven… nothing accents black better then turquoise! When I think of these two colors I think bold damask patterns and modern elegant details. This inspiration would be perfect for a sophisticated cocktail hour followed by a sit down dinner at a ritzy downtown hotel. Have some fun by adding different black and white patterns  and turquoise pillows to your lounge area.

TurqandYellow

 Turquoise and Yellow: My two favorite colors of the year! This color combo would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding with so many options for details! If you are thinking of having a vintage, rustic back yard wedding these colors are for you! Use yellow candies and fruit to create table and seating decor that is super easy an inexpensive. Turquoise bridal party attire, colorful flowers and lemonade is all you need for a warm and casual event.

TurqandOrange

Turquoise and Orange: Naturally chic and super beautiful harmonious hues! This color combo would be perfect for a casual but yet bold event held at an outdoor venue or even at a logg cabin in the mountains. Turquoise and orange can be used to create a vintage earthy feel or can be more vibrant and modern just by changing the type of table decor and flower arrangements. This pair can even be used for a subtule tropical beach atmosphere.

I may have to throw some kind of fish themed bridal shower now, just so I have an excuse to use that cake! So cute! And I love Pantone, for the record--I look forward to their fashion forecasts each season.
