Blue Velvet + Mandarin Orange: 2017 Editorial Feature

The movement of the Mae gown from Chantel Lauren captured by Travis J Photography in the historic Monson House for our current issue’s editorial feature is captivating, thus why it probably looks familiar, it graces the cover! Many of you have already immersed yourself into the pages of the current issue, and and if you haven’t yet we highly recommend that you do! This week we are taking you through the editorial feature in more detail and showcasing the talents and arts of a great team! Today we introduce you to our venue and provide an artistic overview!

Blue velvet meets mandarin orange is a fall inspired look, a style that encompasses a depth and richness portrayed in a romantic gothic revival with a modern bohemian twist. Layers of texture were scattered throughout the look with a hand painted gown, aged candlestick holders, velvet ribbon, fresh fruit, hand dyed napkins, and the ornate architecture of the Thomas S. Monson building. This beautiful couple + their sweet husky were styled into the scene in a way that allowed the ornate architecture of the environment and all the details of each look to compliment them. The entire team was inspiration in their own element and together the creation is fall wedding style at it’s best!

The Thomas S. Monson Center has a grand feeling unlike anywhere else.  This historic, meticulously restored mansion is just minutes from Downtown Salt Lake City, defined by its sophisticated beauty reminiscent of the grand estates in Salt Lake City.  This gorgeous building creates a picturesque backdrop for a ceremony, a luncheon or a reception. Say “I do” in a ceremony on the outdoor circular drive, enjoy a reception on our plaza, or move to the ornate, gold laced ballroom on the third floor with a sweeping view of downtown and the surrounding mountains. If you’re looking for romance, stunning traditional architecture, and timeless elegance, the Thomas. S. Monson Center is for you.
