Fashion Friday: Retro Bridal Fashion

We are taking a look at not just one but two of our throwback gowns from the current UBB mag issue shot by David Newkirk. These two took us back to previous era’s and had us swooning over the past! Found local we know you can get these looks if they win your retro soul over too!

This original design was created by a local designer and bridal shop owner, Robynn Dunn of The Perfect Dress + The Brides Shop. It is a vintage win! Light weight crocheted lace adorned with the very most perfect pearl peter pan collar, creates a serious aura of retro glamour. Hair & Makeup by Steph tells us that this adorable retro chignon with berry lips is perfect for a unique bride. The hairpiece comes from another local artist making a custom statement, Danani Handmade.

retro4retro5retro6This 1920’s inspired gown has statement sleeves to swoon for and takes us back to the Gatsby mansion! This gown available at Gateway Bridal has a sweat heart neckline and the gown is an A-line cut with intricate beading details true to a long ago era. Hair & Makeup by Steph hit this vintage look out of the park! She tells us that a faux bob is more wearable than one might think, it just needs to be paired with the right dress and a great a head piece {like these shown here also made by Danani}. This kind of look is perfect for a bride seeking timelessness but also interested in making an intriguing statement.
