DIY Vintage Carnival Wedding

Today we are featuring a darling DIY Vintage Carnival Wedding shot by Aria Photography. Many of the details were created and crafted by the bride and her family…. the “enter signs”, pendents, windmills, tissue-ball-pom-poms, circle signs, the mailbox, orange “Photo Opp” wall with turquoise vintage frames… all of these little details added to the environment of the vintage-carnival theme perfectly! I love it when a bride gets really involved with the planning of her wedding and puts a lot of time and thought into every aspect of the event!

Catering: Wedding Ice Desserts

How they met: We met through Myspace 3.5 years ago! Yes, that’s a true story! We had a mutual friend, and started talking online for about a month. We met in person with a group of friends, then started dating very shortly after that! We dated for 3 years and 5 months before we were engaged!

Best part of the evening: The best part of the evening was definitely when everyone was dancing at the end of our reception! No one seems to really dance at weddings, but everyone danced at ours, and it was a blast! I loved celebrating like that with all of the people I love!

Photobooth: Smile Now Photo Booths

Cake artistry: Marli’s Cake Creations

Event designer : Allisha Politis (my mom helped me a TON! Thanks mom!)

Entertainment: We hooked up our personalized iPod to speakers rented from PollSound Equipment

Hair & makeup: Shelby Margaret Hadley

Decor/rentals:  Wedding Dreamer

Cotton Candy Machine: Party Land

Bridal gown & accessories: My gown was a Maggie Sottero sold at Mary’s Bridal and I am still obsessed with it! I wore the same jewelry my sister, Melea, wore, and we’ll hand it down to my little sister, Taryn, whenever she gets married. I made my own headpiece!

I love this reception! We are looking at this as a possible venue for my sister’s wedding in September. I would LOVE to chat with someone about how they worked around some of the challenges (no running water, etc). Please email me at camille.rhoades at gmail.com if you don’t mind sharing!!!
