Featured Winter Wedding {Sam & Seth}

Bride & Groom: Samantha (Perkins) and Seth Fredrick

How you met: We were in the same group at a church event when we were 15 years old.

How he proposed: On top of Mount Olympus while watching the sunrise.

Wedding date: December 30, 2009

Wedding ceremony location: Salt Lake City Temple

Reception location: Abravanel Hall. This is an amazingly stunning site to have a reception; nowhere else compares. It is what it is and so coming up with ideas for decorating was not difficult, especially with my Mom’s eye for classy detailing. Also, the people are wonderful and easy to work with.

Wedding colors: Champaign-gold, ivory-white, black and red.

Menu: For the wedding dinner: Chicken Cordon Bleu, Sarah’s Salad, and Ice Cream Crepes.

Special touches / Décor elements: We chose not to do the traditional flower arrangements, rather my Mom created tall, stunning centerpieces with branches, sticks, and shimmery leaves. Along with these arrangements, tall shimmery cone like trees from Tai Pan Trading, with large square, frameless mirrors underneath the trees. Small lit candles were placed around the trees and arrangements. We had large canvas pictures of our bridals, groomals and engagement pictures set on top of easels strategically placed on the floor. Placed on the tall tables at the massive windows were lit lanterns with candles around them, one lantern for each table. There was a real wintery and shimmery feel, to coincide with the time of year and snow.

Wedding Planner: (My Mom, unofficially)

Other: As you can tell I put my Mom as many of the answers to vendors, and rightfully so! She truly was the backbone behind the reception, and her and my Father were the inspiring, supportive, and loving parents helping me prepare for the most important day of my life. Though my Mother is not a professional in any of these areas, accept she does have an art degree and has an eye for classy, elegant, modern, and beautiful art and landscapes of many kinds, she so easily could be one.
