Flower Friday: Feature Wedding {Ilsa & Aaron}

Its been a few weeks since I “admin’d” a post, and I am delighted to be back! Especially for such a beautiful and organic flower Friday courtesy of Kate Osborne & the ever so talented Mrs. Sarah Winward. Ilsa & Aaron said I do at Deer Valley, one of Utah’s many fine resorts that accommodate events that exude this lovely earthy feel. Here is what Sarah the lovely florist had to say about what she created …

“Ilsa has a bit of Swedish heritage & wanted her wedding to pay tribute to that. But she also wanted her event to feel modern and rustic. The flowers that appealed to her felt lush but also very natural. We used a mix of garden roses, dahlias, yarrow, ranunculus, & anemone. We also incorporated some herbs like rosemary & thyme. She wanted the dinner after her ceremony to feel like a Swedish smorgasbord, so I used rich colors in the centerpieces and incorporated figs & grapes. At first the use of antlers was a figurative inspiration, but then Isla purchased a large box of antlers off ebay and offered them to me with creative freedom to use them as I pleased. I love a bride that comes to the table with new ideas! I tied little bunches of flowers to some of the antlers and placed them on the sign in tables and cocktail tables in her space. They also made their way into Ilsa’s bouquet and one specific table framing candles and more flowers. ”
