Flower Friday: Wedding Feature {Blossom Sweet}

Today’s flower Friday is bloom heavy! And we adore it! Blossom Sweet is known for their large and gorgeous bouquets, and this one suits their standard! A gorgeous local wedding with amazing blooms in lush romantic tones. Melissa joins us with some floral insight and tops of our week with a bang! Thanks to Gideon Photo for amaze images!

b10We loved designing for this particular client’s wedding earlier this summer.  She was so open to suggestion and it really paid off at the end of the day with her designs.

The bride looked stunning holding her bouquet which was a showstopping piece in every sense of the word.  The color mixture was simply fantastic and included shades of burgundy, ivory, coral, red, peach, plum, and fuchsia.  Flowers we used in the bouquet included: protea, peonies, stock, roses, lisianthus, dahlias, scabiosa, kiwi vine, agonis, hypericum berries (to name a few).

As you can see, this was a bride with no shortage of bridesmaids!  Go ahead and count them–there’s 11 to be exact.  With such a large number in her bridal party we opted for one oversized bridal bouquet (oversized in both mass and in beauty!) rather than having so many small bouquets.  The colors in the bridesmaids’ attire were incorporated into the bride’s bouquet making the entire “look” flow together.

The groom looked dashing in a stark black suit.  Truth be told I’m typically not a fan of black suits, but with the colors we used this was a dramatic concept to be sure, and that suit fit right in.  His boutonniere was simple (as I tend to think boutonnieres should be).

The archway at the reception was a work of art!  It turned out to be a windy, stormy night so props to Jimmy with Gideon Photography for capturing crisp images of the archway floral even as it was being blown in the wind.  We had two pieces on the archway, one on each side, which were hung asymmetrically.  This created such a cool vibe and was a great backdrop for the receiving line.

b5Finally, the centerpieces were just plain cool.  This color palette is not a run-of-the-mill type of thing.  It was unexpected and edgy yet still very pretty.  While each centerpiece incorporated the same elements, as you can see no two arrangements were exactly the same.
