Today for wedding Wednesday we are bringing you an intimate wedding on a beautiful ranch in one of Utah’s best small towns, Kanab! This house, this wedding, this family is darling and this wedding is simple and beautiful. We loved Alexa & Matt’s story and are thrilled to have Alexa on with us today to share a little behind their love story and their homegrown wedding. Thanks to Gideon Photo for sharing this real Utah wedding with us!
It was really important to me to have a wedding that represents both of us. Matt’s favorite color is orange so we added pops of orange to our color palette of pinks and purples. He also loves to hunt, so we used deer antlers for some of our centerpieces and even tucked a little one into my bouquet! We balanced the rustic look of the antlers by using lace, satin, and gorgeous pearls to keep the look elegant and romantic.
We knew that the best place for us to have our wedding would be at my parent’s house, on the ranch I grew up on. Their house has this gorgeous Tuscan flair and we knew it would be perfect – beautiful and intimate. With the help of my very talented family members we did the entire wedding ourselves! My sister Brie did my nails and then Chelsea, another sister, did my hair and make-up, they kept me looking like myself – just a more glamorous version. My mom and grandma have been decorating weddings for as long as I can remember, and it was such an honor to have them finally work on mine. My younger sister, Ryanne, is really talented with floral work and my older sister, Cierra, is a wedding planner at Brick Canvas, both of them did an amazing job with my bouquet and all of the other floral elements.
