Utah hosts some amazing local bridal publications and this is the time of year that new editions all emerge and colorful images of wedding bliss begin to pop out from the pages and into our delighted minds. Today we are thrilled to have our good friend Tessa Woolf {the editor of Salt Lake/ Park City Bride & Groom} share with us the only sneak peek of the most glamorous bridal magazine to hit news stands this winter.
I’m excited to share a sneak peek of the winter/spring 2012 issue of Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom magazine with all you UBB readers today; especially all you newly engaged gals and guys! From a swoon-worthy fashion story to a decadent desserts photo shoot to a bright and bold floral feature, I’m loving our new issue, and I hope you will too. So let’s dive into the pages of the magazine and for an exclusive look at some of the gorgeous goods!
FASHION
You may have already seen a sneak peek of our new cover, photographed by the incredible Elizabeth Messina, but what you haven’t seen yet is the fashion feature from our photo shoot! Working with Elizabeth Messina was an absolute dream, and the resulting feature (aptly titled “Dream a Little Dream”) is simply delightful: a beautiful bride wearing gorgeous gowns and accessories in a lush, serene setting.
DESSERTS
Is there anything more elegant (or scrumptious) than a classic white wedding cake? For this issue’s desserts feature, photographed by Barrett Doran at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, we focused on white-on-white cakes. The cakes highlighted popular frosting techniques, including buttercream, fondant, and royal icing. We accented these pretty confections with props and décor by Events by LMG (and UBB’s own Studio Stems and Pink Piggy Design!) in soft shades like blackberry, raspberry, apricot, and dove gray.
FLOWERS
When brainstorming ideas for our floral feature, photographed by David Newkirk at the downtown Salt Lake City Library, we were inspired by fashion’s bright and bold color-mixing trend. Think red jeans with a sunny yellow top, purple belt, and green loafers—it’s all good, whether we’re talking clothes or blooms. Of course, when it comes to wedding flowers, all of this bright fun still needs to be gorgeous and polished, so we drew inspiration from J. Crew catalogues, Elle Décor magazine, and the queen of all things poppy and preppy, Kate Spade.
And this is just the beginning! So much more awaits you in the pages of our new issue, including five spectacular Real Weddings, three top-notch tablescapes, and five mouth-watering menus from the best local caterers. But, you’ll have to wait to see these and other features when the magazine hits newsstands across Utah on January 10—mark your calendars!
Thank you UBB for sharing this sneak peek of SLPCBG!

Beautiful and creative work. Love the white on white cake and all the detail work, so soft and elegant. The lace and the blush tones in the first shoot are so classy. Beautiful work vendors.
