Spring 2012 Inspiration Shoot {Fashion}

Hi and good morning lovely UBB readers! We hope everyone has enjoyed our Spring Inspiration shoot so far. We have a week full of gorgeous images and unique ideas so get ready for lots of orange! Today we will be featuring the “fashion” side of the shoot. Which for some brides can be the most important part… the dress, the hair, the jewels and of course no fashionable bride would be complete without a well groomed, well styled man!

The Dress:
“The Edinburgh gown by Blue by Enzoani is a Skilky Dupioni, modified A-line gown with a ruched bodice.  The draped skirt has an inset floral detail of cut dupioni and organza.    This style of gown is a perfect dress for a bride who wants class and something unique.  The cut fabric detail that resembles a rosette design is a design element that adds a unique flair to the gown.  The modified A-line style is very popular right now.  With the slightly dropped waist, it hugs the body more than your traditional A-line dress without being a mermaid silhouette.  This gown is also popular because of the versatility to accessorize!  The styling can go modern and chic, romantic and whimsical, or formal and sophisticated!” – Whitney Hasenyager, Gateway Bridal

The Jewelery:
The perfect dress must be accompanied by the perfect accessories and jewelery! We were beyond thrilled to have J. Brooks Jewelers provide some exquisite pieces for this shoot! We are all about the bling and statement pieces! Love the unique combination of rose gold and diamonds! It’s all about the gold and rose gold rings this season.

-The ladies engagement ring is designed by Simon G. It’s 18kt white and rose gold with pink diamonds. The center of the ring has 9 center stones totaling to 1 carat. {$13,750.00}

-The men’s band is designed by Carlex. The ring is 18kt white and rose gold. {$3,900.00}

-The diamond pendant is designed by Gregg Ruth and it contains 2.28 total weight of diamonds in a cross pear pendant. It’s featured on an 18” wheat chain. {$11,495.00}

-The large bangle is designed by Leslie Greene. The bangle is in sterling silver with diamonds. {$1,410.00}

-Earrings are designed by Simon G.

The Hair & Makeup:
“It was a pleasure to be involved in the Spring Utah Bride Blog Shoot! For this particular shoot/bride I was going for a chic, sophisticated look that was clean and fresh. For the makeup we accented her blue eyes with brown and peach hues, false eyelashes for a more dramatic look, enhanced her cheekbones and lips with a dusty rose shade. It is always important that the hair style suits the face shape and dress. The hair was loosly curled, teased, braided in several different areas to create texture, and pinned up for an elegant yet flirty style. We added beautiful hair accessories to compliment the look.”Jaclyn Lamoreaux, Hair & Makeup Design

The Custom Suit:
This suit was designed to reflect a lot of popular trends we’re seeing this season in menswear:

  • Fit: It’s everything.  When a suit fits perfectly people notice and it just looks better.  We made sure we tapered the sleeves and chest of this suit to avoid any boxiness or billowing commonly found when you buy off the rack. We kept this suit tailored nicely to the wearers body, which is essential.
  • Fabric: This cloth is one of our newer fabrics and we love the color.  Light gray is a great choice for weddings this year.  It’s casual, but classy – and a great alternative to the “all-too-common” classic black.  Also, see if you can catch the subtle texture of the fabric – it’s a great detail that we love.
  • Pocket Square: First of all, if you’re not planning to wear a pocket square on your wedding day think again.  It’s the easiest way to accent your outfit and dress properly for the formal occasion.  A suit looks better with a pocket square, and it instantly adds Style Points to your look.
  • The Orange accents: Orange and gray is a very flattering combination – very appropriate for Spring and Summer weddings.
  • Cuff Links: Just like the pocket square – don’t skip this essential.  There’s no excuse for wearing a less-formal button cuff on the day you get married.
  • Wide Spread Shirt Collar: You can’t go wrong with a perfect white shirt. Consider going with a wide spread collar on your next shirt, which is something you might not already have in your current wardrobe.  It’s slightly more modern so only wear it if you’re comfortable in it.

“It’s easy to put the groom’s wardrobe on the back-burner.  It happens.  But with a little help, you can look great with your bride and look back on your wedding pictures proudly forever.  At Dress Code our team of Style Consultants work individually with each client to design the perfect suit or tuxedo for their upcoming wedding.  Our suits range between $249 – $349 and are built to your measurements so they fit you perfectly.  To learn more or to set up an appointment, visit www.DressCodeCustom.com.”
