Thankful Thursday {Happy Thanksgiving!}

Happy Thanksgiving! Today we wanted to take a minute to thank the behind the scenes support we receive from our families. Without them UBB would be just as impossible as it would be without readers or vendors. While this is a little personal we hope you will enjoy a look into what supports the blog that is unseen and appreciate the things we are most grateful for!

Like many of us married adults I receive a great deal of support from my mate! Mr Nathan O’Brien, whom I have been married to for nearly 15 years. He is my constant sounding board for ideas and frustrations. Nate knows how to work hard but he knows how to play hard too and he grasps the importance of that balance in life, he is my constant balance, making sure that I play hard too!

The two of us have generated four beautiful children starting with our oldest who is just now entering those vital teenage years, Miss Storie Kate. The second mother at our house while she is incredibly busy but still offers a lot of help with the youngers and support when she can feel I am down. She also might be the only one who actually knows what it is that I do! Stock falls close behind her and fills my life with a smile because he is so funny. A master at imitations he spends most of his time at home talking in a comical alternate voice.  Saylor is “our ticket to heaven!” She keeps perspective in the house with the challenges that arise from Spina Bifida. {Yes I am also the mother to a special needs child.} She teaches me what is really important and how to live life with courage! At the moment we have inserted a caboose into our family, Nox came around about 8 years after Saylor and has thrown us into baby parenthood all over again. We forgot how lovely it is, sometimes a snuggle with a baby is just what is needed! I want my family to know that they are loved in an extraordinary way and appreciated!

I couldn’t leave this post with out thanking Megan Bailey, my partner in crime here at UBB. Without her the blog would have never come to fruition and of course would not run properly without all that she brings to the table. There is a need for genuine support for each other both personally and professionally to make this thing work, and I am grateful for that give and take in our relationship.

This month I have spent a lot of time thinking about the things that I’m grateful and thankful for. There are so many things during our busy lives we tend to forget or take for granted. I’m thankful for this time of year because it helps me to reflect on the things that are most important in life. I’m so thankful for my family and support system. Words can not express how luck and thankful I am for my amazing husband who has supported me through all of my personal and professional adventures. Without him I would not be where I am today. He has also given be my biggest accomplishments in life, my two little blue-eyed babes, Beckham and Bennett. These two are the light of my life and what I work so hard for. They are my world and bring a calm and joyful balance to my life and have let me feel what unconditional love is.

I’m also so grateful for a healthy family. I think our health is something that we tend to forget about and don’t realize what a true blessing it is to be healthy and happy.

Lastly I wanted to thank one of the most important people in my life, Audrey O’Brien. Without her support and vast knowledge this blog wouldn’t be what it is today. I’m so thankful to have a partner that I adore on a personal level and respect a great deal professionally. Audrey truly is a gem and one of those friends you search a lifetime to fined. She is there for me when ever I need her and her love is genuine love.
