Thankful Thursday {Thanksgiving}

We are finishing off the month of November and our Thankful Thursday posts how we traditionally do, with a post that is a bit more on the personal side! {You might even remember our post from last year!} We are so excited for our thankful reader who won our giveaway, and for our local vendors who won well deserved gift cards! We appreciate our local brides and our local talent beyond words, without them UBB would serve no purpose! But there are some people behind the scenes for whom without UBB would not run either, Thanksgiving seems the perfect day to thank them!

We wanted to start off our thankful shout-outs to one lady who is beyond amazing! Lindsey Orton has been our assistant editor for over a year now and the best employee and asset to UBB! We are so grateful to have her on our team and don’t know what we would do without her sweet personality and incredible work ethics. Thank you so much Lindsey or everything you do for us and we are so thankful to be able to work with you!

As I have been thinking a lot about the things that I’m thankful for over the past few weeks my thoughts keep turning to my family. There are so many amazing people in my life that I’m beyond blessed to call mine. I have incredibly supportive and amazing parents that have always been by my side through all of my adventures and have been there to push me to reach to my fullest. I’m so grateful to have my mom who shows me on a daily bases what unconditional love is and she is the best example of what a mother should be.

Motherhood can be so challenging at times and also the most rewarding thing we will ever do as women. There is nothing I love more or am more grateful for then my boys… both the little one’s and the big one! My boys sure keep me on my toes but I love every minute of our adventures and try my hardest to live in the moment. They are the reason that I work so hard for and there are no words to describe how much joy and happiness they bring to my life. I’m so grateful every day for their health and happiness.

I wouldn’t be who I am today without my other half and partner in crime. My husband Josh is my best friend and I’m so blessed to have such a great man to call mine. I will be the first to admit that he does all of the cooking around our house and a lot of the cleaning! Yep I got a good one! He is my biggest fan and supportive of all my work endeavors. Without him I wouldn’t be able to do the things that I love to do.  I couldn’t ask for a better daddy for my boys who completely adore him.  He is an incredible example of  what hard work can get you and I’m so thankful to have his example in my life.

Without friends in our lives what would we be? I’m so thankful to have some of the best of friends in my life and grateful to call Audrey my friend and business partner. She is as true as they come and there for me through every up and down. She is a daily inspiration of a hard working mom and business women and so unbelievably talented. Without Audrey and Lindsey this blog wouldn’t function and I’m so grateful to be able to work with such amazing ladies!

UBB2014As I have been contemplating this post over the last few weeks and considering gratitude my heart kept turning to the beaches in the northwest and a family trip we took down the coast this past summer. I could see myself watching my family play on beach after beach after beach and my heart was filled with warmth. So this year I am sharing a less than professional image, but a very real one. This is my family as seen by me, through my amateur lens.

We like to experience each other, and while my kids enjoy typical places, like Disney Land, they have found an intense love for new adventure taken upon together. I am grateful for our closeness and for their individuality, for our precious time together and for who we are as a family. They come first and foremost in my life and in order to put them first it requires a good deal of planning and a bit of understanding as well as patience from every one of us!

That man in that picture is beyond good, he is among the best that ever existed and I whole-heartedly believe and know that. I am exceptionally grateful for him and the support he offers me in my personal and business endeavors. He allows me to be a mom while endeavoring professionally and without him I could never be both. Then there is that word … MOM …. the word itself means so much to me and I am so grateful to be called that by my beautiful children! I am grateful to be able to experience creating human life within me just one more time and for the blessings we have received this year, they have been abundant.

Last but certainly not least I would not be able to be a mom, creative professional, and run UBB without the help of my partner Megan and our outstanding employee Lindsey, who really make it happen as we all endeavor to balance successful lives in many disciplines! They are both personal and professional examples to me that give me inspiration, motivation, and support that make what I do hear at UBB possible.  I love them both!
