For most brides, how they look on their wedding day is at the top of their list of important details. There are so many elements that come together to create a stunning bridal look from the dress to the hair + makeup to the jewelry. Today we are diving deeper into our summer editorial feature and talking about the beauty and fashion details.
This season we are loving romantic and flowing silhouettes accompanied by dramatic sleeves + backs. We can’t get enough of the this silk chiffon + beaded english net dress designed by Jenny Packham available locally at Alta Moda Bridal. Simple yet breathtaking are the perfect words to describe it!
If you choose to go with a more flowy style dress we suggest the makeup be simple and classic and the hair natural and flowing as well. We love seeing brides going for a softer feminine look which also lends to the summer season perfectly. Brynn Thomas did an amazing job capturing this windblown look effortlessly!
To finish off your look it’s all about accessorizing! Try going a different direction from traditional diamonds or pearls and opt for a colored stone like amethysts or geodes for a moody purple vibe. If you are looking for great statement pieces for your wedding you have to check out our local favorite, Katie Waltman Jewelry. We love her pieces because they are truly unique and not your traditional wedding jewelry so you can get extra use out of them and wear them with our every day outfits as well! So feast your eyes on the gorgeousness below!
When selecting colors for your wedding and for suits, think as timeless as you can. Black tends to give a very formal setting. Very traditional wedding that looks sharp. Charcoal is great because you get the formal look, but you get more use out of the suit after the wedding. Unlike black, you aren’t limited to only weddings, funerals or black tie events. Charcoal can be worn for any business or religious setting and you can still get away with wearing it to almost any other event. Navy is another big one. We haven’t seen a guy that doesn’t look good in navy! It’s very versatile for occasions beyond the wedding and should be a staple in every mans closet. Right now, we are seeing brighter navy’s than the typical midnight shades, which make for a classic, but new look that is perfect for summer.
Accessories. These are important! Don’t get too obsessed with matching the wedding colors with the color pallet for the groom/groomsmen suits. If you do want to bring in your wedding colors then the best way to do this is subtly. Try having the edges of pocket squares embroidered with a pop of color. Instead of looking for ties in the perfect solid tone, get them with a mellow pattern or texture with only a hint of that specific color leaving the majority a neutral shade. If you want to go crazy, go nuts with the boutonniere, that’s acceptable. Socks are great to splurge on too. Bold socks are really in right now and are for sure treading the trendy line, but if you have trousers that fit well you can be formal during photos with the socks covered and then take a few fun shots and let them loose on the dance floor! Socks aren’t limiting if you have the proper length in your pant.
Our biggest tip is don’t forget about the groom! Your dress + hair and makeup are for sure important but so is your man and making sure he looks equally put together! Check out how Urbana Custom styled this perfect summer groomal fashion look!
