Utah Bride Blog 2014 Spring Editorial {Food & Cake}

The food and cake details are probably among one of our favorites to see at weddings because they really make your event! Let’s face it… we all like to eat yummy things! Today we are diving into our Spring Editorial cake and food feature and sharing the juicy details along with gorgeous images by Jessie Alexis Photography!

This three tier cake designed by Fondant Extraordinar, Julie Hill of Layers Cake, is perfect for a spring wedding! The light lemon cake and black raspberry buttercream are the perfect complement to the outside décor of 23K edible gold leaf and fresh flowers. The sweet polka dots on the extra deep bottom tier are also made with edible gold leaf and add a touch of fun to this otherwise glamorous cake.

La Caille is known for their beautiful atmosphere and their amazing food! We asked them to prepare a few food details that are perfect for a Spring soiree! Think lighter foods incorporating fresh seasonal items like pea shoots, zucchini, fresh cheeses. For the appetizer La Caille made Ricotta, Zucchini and Chicken Tartlets. And for the desserts they served Milk Chocolate Panna Cotta with Chocolate Pearls and their traditional Creme Brulee with Pulled Sugar Baskets… a perfectly fresh and rich balance!

Another amazing treat detail perfect for a sophisticated wedding is macarons! We know these delicate french cookies have been around for a while, but we will never stop loving them! Dolce Bella by Erin made these lovely muted radiant orchid macarons for us that also double as sweet favor for the guests. Add a customized thank you tag to a box that compliments your other stationery details.
