TGIF! We are wrapping up this beautiful Spring Editorial week with some gorgeous floral details by Blooms and Blossoms! We are delighted to have Kelli Dabling here with us sharing more about the inspiration behind floral designs.
“I always love being part of a Utah Bride Blog Editorial Shoot. I was excited to work on the spring shoot because it meant breaking out of winter mode and entering into the lovely aroma of spring smells and colors. I was asked to use the Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid in the mix. I didn’t want to go overboard with one single color so I mixed it in with some blushy pinks and different shades of purple. Often times clients will come to me with 1-2 colors they are using for their wedding. It’s okay to compliment those 1-2 colors with additional shades and even other colors. Your florist should be able to help you put together a palette that goes well together.
I used quite a big variety of flowers ranging from ranunculus, garden roses, sweet pea, tulips, lilac, clematis and hydrangea to name a few. The look was to be very feminine and sophisticated. To achieve that look I wanted to pull in soft delicate flowers like sweet pea and clematis and to add some sophistication I used some hearty flowers like hydrangea and roses. The Chateau at La Caille was a perfect place to display these particular flowers. It allowed the colors to stand out and make a statement without overwhelming everything else going on.”
And that’s a wrap! Thank you so much to all of our incredible vendors who participated in this Spring Editorial! We have such amazing talent here in Utah and we are proud to be able to show a piece of their work off! Have a great weekend!
