Utah Bride Blog 2014 Spring Editorial {Paper Details}

We are continuing on with our Spring 2014 Editorial shoot and today we are focusing on the paper details and invitation! Megan Bailey with Pink Piggy Design is here with us today talking about Spring wedding invitation trends and tips for creating a cohesive look!

“One of the most important details for your wedding is the wedding invitations. This is the first glimpse your guests have into your event and sets the tone for your wedding. It let’s guests know what to expect, what style of event you are hosting {formal or casual} and most importantly… it gets them excited to attend! The design process for your wedding invitation is a very important and exciting one. Your invitation is a great place to bring in a “theme” to your event. For this editorial shoot I wanted to bring in some sophisticated gold foil polka dots to show a very feminine side but also a classic look. We didn’t want to go overboard with the polka dots so we used them in minimal places like the menu cards and the envelope liners. We even brought this concept into the cake design that was featured yesterday!¬†

You can work with your custom stationery designer to come up with a look that can easily be carried throughout your event, from your wedding invitations to your menus and place cards, favor tags, and even your wedding cake! This year we are loving metallic foiling! This printing process¬†is the application of pigment or metallic foil, often gold or silver, to paper where a heated die is stamped onto the foil, making it adhere to the surface leaving the design of the die on the paper and giving a metallic shine look. I love pairing bold foiling with feminine florals for a gorgeous and sophisticated look!”
